For what it is worth, I have been a proud Hamiltonian most of my life. Including a decade or so in neighbouring Burlington, my home base has remained consistent. This area is beautiful and has so much to offer. Our passion has been to move to Tobermory which we finally did in the summer of 2017. Notwithstanding, our ties to Hamilton remain strong and we return to visit often.
My post-secondary education has been in a number of disciplines but all seemed to pull me back in the direction of accounting and business management. Having honed my craft over time, I have had and continue to have the privilege of teaching what I have learned to others.
I started my working career in the food hospitality industry. Having spent a small amount of time as wait staff, I soon found myself immersed in the accounting, administration and management of the companies I worked for. The logical next step was to form my own company and enter the world of business ownership. It was through my company, The Holst Equation, that I was to realize my full potential in the business world.
In my personal life, I enjoy and have enjoyed scuba diving and instructing as well as traveling and hiking. Add to that a number of years in spelunking or cave exploration as well as rock climbing. My latest passion is photography. In this regard I will be showcasing much of my work in this website. All of the portrait pictures are mine as will be many of the pictures covering our blogs and other offerings.
